Statement of Principles
Renew Alberta is a party of pragmatic Albertans who share a vision of a democratic, enduring, vibrant, and prosperous Alberta.
A DEMOCRATIC ALBERTA
We believe that a political party’s first and foremost obligation is not to its ideology, its supporters, or its own electoral success, but to the protection and enhancement of democracy. We believe that public business should be conducted in public. Our government should foster debate, encourage broad citizen involvement and ensure that the process for making decisions is fair and transparent.
AN ENDURING ALBERTA
We believe that the government has an obligation to balance Alberta’s prosperity now with the prosperity of future generations. Our fiscal policy, economic diversification, management of renewable and non-renewable resources, and stewardship of the environment must all serve Albertans’ well-being now and in the future.
A VIBRANT ALBERTA
We believe opportunity grows from strong families and communities; physical, mental and emotional health; and life-long learning. We must make efficient, responsible and proactive investments to nurture these roots of Albertans’ opportunity.
A PROSPEROUS ALBERTA
We believe that economic prosperity is created by citizens, not government. The role of government is to foster an open and competitive marketplace in which the initiative of individual Albertans ensures the success of all.
